Objective:
The purpose of this
assignment is to expose you to professional accounting journals. To the practicing accountant, these journals
provide a means to gain knowledge and stay current in their practice area. This assignment will also allow you to
practice your written communications skills through the preparation of a brief
summary of the journal article that you select.
Instructions:
1.
Select an article from a professional accounting
journal.

The article must be primarily about a financial
accounting topic (vs. a managerial or tax accounting topic).
·
The article should be fairly lengthy (at least
4-6 pages).
·
The article must have been printed during the past
year.
Go to CPA Journal online to search
for the article
2. Prepare a brief summary of the article
that you read. For example, tell me what the topic of the article was, the issues
or accounting principles that were addressed, and any recommendations that the
author suggests. Your summary should be
brief – 2 pages, typed (double-spaced)
at a minimum.
Remember – late work will
not be accepted!!!
